Why I’m Running
I’m running to be our next state representative because I do not want to let our health decisions and economic recovery be determined by only one party in Georgia. We need strong Democratic voices leading the call for responsible decision making when faced with a tremendous budget deficit. We need legislators who want all Georgians to live in a state with accessible, affordable healthcare, equitable educational opportunities, and protected rights -- including reproductive rights. With years of experience as a public health expert, scientist, and most recently as an advocate for the people of my district, I look forward to taking my expertise to the Georgia State House and developing solutions for all Georgians.
Meet Rebecca Mitchell
My name is Rebecca. I am a mother of four, a veterinarian, and a scientist. For the entirety of my career, I have focused on the research that helped drive positive changes in our public health policy. I am passionate about developing the legislation that helps our community and all Georgians thrive. We need more voices of science in our legislature to craft solution-oriented policies that provide opportunities for all.
